Summary

This summer home is situated on the rocky shoreline while remaining nestled in the trees of the densely wooded site in the Gulf Islands. The building is focused on the vast ocean views to the south. Everything, from the overall massing to the details, reinforces this view. Roof beams project through to the outdoors, leading the eye towards the ocean and sky. The walls and ceilings extended from inside to out, blurring the distinction between interior and exterior while providing shade to prevent excessive solar gain.
