Summary

The Arts and Heritage Hub aims to bring together Ladysmith’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant arts scene into a dynamic and interactive space. Through partnership with the Town of Ladysmith and the Stz’uminus First Nation, this oceanfront meeting place will serve the local community and tourists who come to explore the region. The project seeks to showcase the unique Coast Salish culture of the area and re-establish the Stz’uminus First Nation’s presence in the waterfront area as a step towards Truth and Reconciliation. Led by Coast Salish artist John Marston, the design of the building will reflect the cultural and artistic values of the community, and a public plaza will provide a space for community gatherings and events. The Artists’ Studio will offer a space for artists to create and showcase their work, further promoting the local arts scene.
