Madill Office + Warehouse

Summary

The project is a two-storey facility that consists of a warehouse on the ground level and office space on the second level. The site is located in an industrial area of Ladysmith, BC, with views of Ladysmith Harbour and the Gulf Islands. The office space is positioned to look over the harbour and is surrounded by full-height window walls to fully capture the views.

The building form and colour palette were inspired by the clean and crisp character of the Madill company. From a distance, the building appears as a black mass with wooden alcoves; however, as you move closer, the black-stained Accoya cladding starts to reveal its rich character.
