Maria Tash Jewelry, New York
Summary
Working within an exceedingly narrow site in the NoHo (North of Houston Street) neighbourhood of New York City, this project aimed to create a bright and attractive retail space for a downtown jewelry store. A finely crafted wall, composed of an array of illuminated glass vitrines, displays merchandise and creates a permeable screen between the main space and adjacent stairs. A floating room houses individual spa rooms upstairs, while private offices and storage areas are contained in the basement. The palette of materials is kept to a minimum, with glass, mirrors and bleached wood flooring reflecting natural light deep into the narrow space. Working with Innerspace, the entire store, including the exterior façade, was demolished, redesigned, and rebuilt.
