Gavin has long had a passion for design and architecture, and coupled with his technical approach led to him joining the architectural programs at BCIT. There Gavin developed a technical expertise in building construction through his Diploma of Architectural and Building Technology. Building off of this he later earned his Bachelor of Architectural Science, gaining experience in architectural design through a number of award-winning studio projects.
While in the bachelors program Gavin had the opportunity to study abroad, participating in an exchange to Italy, where he studied architectural theory at Politecnico di Milano. Before coming to Checkwitch Poiron Architects he also completed an internship at X Architecture, where he gained experience in the production of construction documents. Gavin is passionate about design and its role in creating positive impacts on people’s lives and transforming the built environment for the better. Whether through sustainable design approaches or innovative solutions, Gavin is always looking for opportunities to contribute to improving the urban landscape.
Gavin’s technical eye isn’t just limited to architecture, and in his spare time, he can be found working on his VW Golf Mk3.
